Does a color tattoo hurt more than black one afterwards?

I have a coloured tattoo between my shoulder blades which I found quite painful to have done and cost $150. Not happy with it, I have had laser treatment to remove it but have given up after one session. Quite painful but very quick, I have noticed no fade after one test patch and one full treatment. Apparantly coloured tattoos are the hardest to remove. And also at $150 a treatment I can see it being a very expensive exercise. I'm now considering a redesign instead. Good luck.
